Salmon, almost orange potted lillies

Question
I inherited several lily plants from my mother, who had them for eons, said she got them as a wedding gift which would be 80 yrs. ago.  They have not been repotted for about 6 yrs.  Small bulblets are on the top of the soil in some of the pots.  They bloom each winter starting at Christmas,  I bring them indoors in October from the porch and they rest until I see new shoots and then I start watering, usually mid to end of November.  3 - 6 to 8 inch pots and 1 12 inch pot.  I would like to repot them but I don't know the proper time to repot.  Also what kind of lily could they be?  Not double, don't look like the typical Amaryllis, petals are more pointed.  Thanks!

Answer
Patricia,

There are many varieties of Amaryllis and some do have pointier leaves. I would need some pictures and some time to identify it. E-mail them to [email protected]. If you can't e-mail pictures send me an e-mail and I will e-mail you my mailing address. The proper time to repot would be when they are dormant after the leaves die back. Pictures need to be of both leaves and flowers. You and your mother are doing well with them to have them that long. To keep lilies blooming they require lots of blooming plant fertilizer. Good luck!
