QuestionHello - I have a Red Tulip Anthurium, grown from a cutting, about four years old. The plant is thriving in prescribed conditions. I would like to know what causes the flowers to close and not reopen. The plant is not in direct sunlight but is near a window, and is watered once a week.
Thank you! Anne
AnswerAnne,
It sounds like you are doing well with it. The flowers may be closing because of water or the roots can rot and cause problems. Low humidity would be another cause to loose flowers prematurely. This plant is at home in Hawaii where the humidity is always high due to daily misty brief rain showers. Misting it daily when it is in bloom might resolve the issue. Good luck!
