the leaf of my plant is distinctly dark and light on either side. is this a known hybrid?

Several varieties of ivy are darker on one side than the other. I cannot tell you which variety yours is. I suggest in the future that you insist that the supplier supplies plants that are all named as to the named variety. Good luck!
