QuestionI bought this plant in a 4"pot mistakingly thinking it would go outside but our weather is too cool much of the time. what I need to know; is any part of this plant poisonious to small children or pets? I love the green leaves and bright red flowers but cannot keep anything that might be dangerous to very young children or pets.
AnswerHi Lucy,
I cannot find any reports of Mandevilla being toxic to children or pets. However, not all plants have been thorougly tested and individuals may have unusual allergies to certain plants.
To be on the safe side, as a parent I recommed that you place your Mandevilla in a sunny location that is high up and beyond the reach or interest of your toddler.
