Questionmy tree is very dry..the needles fall off with a slight touch..it has indirect sun..what can I do to bring it back to health...thank you
AnswerSU,
If the needles are falling off as you describe I suspect that the tree is dead. Remove it from the pot and examine the roots. It the soil falls apart and there are very few roots then it's demise was caused by too much water. If there are lots of roots but the rootball is dry and hard it was kept too dry. When you water a Norfolk pine you need to water it thoroughly so some water goes into the drain tray. It must be in a pot with drainage holes and a drain tray under it. An hour after watering it you should empty the drain tray. Then you should not water it again until it is very dry and feels a lot lighter. Keeping it constantly wet will rot the roots and cause the tree to die. It is not a swamp plant. Overwatering causes the death of more houseplants than underwatering. If that is the problem discard that tree and go shopping for a new one. Good luck!
