Questiongreetings from boise, idaho!
i love charlies, but after a while mine are no longer "lanky". not enough space between sets of leaves.
also, sometimes they will have a divine, light aroma, and sometimes not. can you explain this?
thank you for your time,
kerry
AnswerHi Kerry,
There are several plants that have that common name. I am just going to assume you are talking about the kind that is usually kept as a houseplant, Glechoma Hederacea.
A plant gets 'lanky' or 'leggy' (too much stem and not enough leaves) due to low light. It is likely that the plant is being exposed to higher light levels. This is not unusual or unhealthy. The leaves on the stems should be fairly close together. Too much space between leaves means the plant is not getting enough light and not as healthy as it should be.
Creeping Charlies are members of the mint family. They will release the aroma when the leaves get brushed or crushed. New growth can also give off a scent.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy
