Question
i have a purpal wandering jew and i have had it for 3 months it had great coloer and was blooming but know it looks pale and wilty it has not bloomed for awil i think it got attaked by a desies after i transplanted it witch was 2 weeks ago it has lost a lot of leaves when i water i get no dranige but soil is wet the tips of the leaves are turning brown i know the air is really dry i only use botteled water cause tap is too hard i give it a mix of sun an shade i do not want to loose this plant so any help i would truley apprechiate i sent a pic my pic showes healthy but not when i look at it sorry about spelling

Hi Cindy,
  Unnecessary repotting is one of the most common causes of plant failure. It sounds as if you put the plant in too big of a pot and it has developed root rot.
(Never repot a plant into a pot more than 2 inches bigger than the pot it was in. The soil in a pot that is too big can stay wet too long and cause root rot.)

About the only thing you can do to try to save the plant is pull it out of it's current pot, remove any rotted roots you find and put it back in it's previous pot (cleaned and bleached) with fresh soil. Keep the plant out of direct sunlight and water it sparingly until it has recovered. However, this is not a sure cure.

Another thing you can do to try to save the plant is to take the healthiest parts of the plant as cuttings and re-root them. Wandering Jew plants are easy to propagate and stem cuttings root easily. Dip the cut end of the stem in rooting hormone (You can find rooting hormone at Walmart or most any store with a floral dept) and set the cutting in distilled water. Once the new roots are about 1 inch long plant them in fresh soil.
