QuestionHi, I just recently transfered my jasmine plant to a different location, none of the roots were damaged. However my husband did break off a limb when re-planting it and now the leaves are curling and turning brown on one section of the plant. How can I save my plant and bring it back?
AnswerElizabeth,
It would have been safer to wait until after April 1st to move your Jasmine. Unless it was potted it is impossible to move a large plant without damaging roots. This time of year the roots are not growing so moving the plant sends it into shock. When the roots start growing in late March your jasmine should recuperate from the transplant.
You didn't say why you moved it or from where to where? Jasmine needs to be in full sun for most of the day. Jasmine needs lots of water in the summer but none during the winter. If you watered it heavily after moving it or if it has rained a lot lately that could be the cause of the browning. Do not water at all till summer.
You said it is turning brown in one section of the plant. Inspect that section very closely for insects. If you find insects or spider webs in the leaf crotches or anything that looks like bits of cottonballs all over the plant then you have insects. Email me back and I will tell you what to do about them.
Here is a website that has further care instrucctions:http://www.ehow.com/way_5199980_plant-care-jasmine.html
