QuestionHi, I read your answer about this peace lily and you said that it is a poisonous plant. I've read this before but i've always wondered how poisonous the peace lily really is. I'm sure it's not like dangerously poisonous is it? How can it be harm to people, pets, or things alike in my home? Is there something that i do that may trigger it to become harmful? Thank you for taking the time to read this :)
AnswerSynthia,
Peace lilies actually clean the air as they take in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen and in that process they remove many harmful chemicals from the air such as benzene and formaldehyde. The only time they are poisonous is if children or pets eat the leaves. Then they can make the child or pet very very sick. Vomiting and diarrhea would be the result. Just keep children or pets from tasting the leaves or flowers. Good luck!
