QuestionI think I have overwatered my spineless yucca, some of the fronds/leaves are dropping, I can't see any sign of damage at the stems. If i have watered it too much what do you recommend i do to get the plant healthy again.
AnswerMathew,
To save it you need to have it in the sunniest location possible in your home. The drapes and miniblinds need to be open all day, from dawn to dusk. The plant needs to be treated like a cactus. Never water it unless it has been very dry for at least 5 days. When you do water it empty the drain tray an hour after watering it. If you can't lift it to empty the drain tray then suction out the excess water with a turkey baster. It is not a swamp plant and sitting in a tray full of water will rot it's roots. If you follow these instructions it will slowly grow back the roots that have already rotted.
I water mine about every 2 weeks in the winter when the days are shorter and it is not actively growing. During the summer I water it once a week. I do set it outdoors in the summer under a shade tree. Hot sun in the summer will sunburn the leaves. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
