QuestionMy maternity plant is almost 2' high. Instead of getting 'babies' the leaves are turning yellow, then brown and then falling off. Should I repot it in in cactus soil? Should I give it plant food; if so any special kind? How often should I water it? I love this plant and I don't want to lose it. Thank you so much
AnswerAnn,
The Latin name for your plant is kalanchoe daigremontia. Yes, you should repot it in cactus soil in a pot with a drain hole and a drain tray under it. Do not water it unless the soil has been dry for 3 days then water it thoroughly and empty the drain tray an hour after watering. It needs lots of sun and should be fertilized once a month. As it gets older it can get tall and lanky and need staking. Good luck with your plant.
