QuestionWill,
From the pictures I've seen, I'm pretty sure I have a 6' Jenny Craig Cane plant. I've had it for some years & now at the top of 3 of the stalks, flowers are budding. I can't find any info. on jenny craigs with flowers. Can you help me with info. on this?
Thank you very much.
Nancy
AnswerHi Nancy,
Dracaena 'Janet Craigs' do not often flower indoors, but it is not a rare event either. Usually it occurs with plants that are quite potbound, are located near a window and have been in the same location for a long time. Of course, good care is also important!
Once it flowers, there is a good chance it will flower again once or twice per year from now on, assuming you don't repot, relocate or neglect your Janet Craig.
The flower is a bit sticky and messy as soon as it starts to whither and dry up. Once that process starts it is best to cut it off at the base of the flower stem and discard it.
I have written an article on Dracaena Janet Craigs that I will email for free to you (or anyone else) who sends a request to me at

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
