Ferns care

Question
Am I over watering for my luscious Boston fern has yellowing on the outer rim of its fronds.  Lots of new growth but maybe I'm over watering it?

Answer
Karen,
Most people kill their plants by over or under watering them. Plants die from too frequent waterings, not from how much water you give them at one time. Here's how to correct the problem.

Water your plant based on how much it weighs when thoroughly watered VS when it is ready to be watered again. Pick the pot up and feel how heavy it is after watering it thoroughly. Don't water it again until it feels considerably lighter. Depending on plant types, sunlight exposure and pot size plants will need water at many different rates from once a day to once a month or more.

Boston ferns do not like direct sunlight. They do best in bright rooms without direct sunlight. Morning sun is always best for indoor tropical plants if you want to give them direct son light.
