After the Aloe Vera plant flowers and the blooms die, should the stalk be removed?

Hi Gwen,

There is a common misconception that if you leave a dead flower stem on a plant, it will sap the strength of the plant. It will not. However, a dead flower stem is not very attractive, so it is generally recommended to remove the stem by cutting it off right where it emerges from the plant.
