QuestionI have a rubber tree that is over 20 years old. It is currently outside with lots of sun light. I noticed that is now getting lots of black spots. I guess this is some kind of fungus? How would I treat it.
Thanks,
Diane
AnswerDiane,
If it is outside in full sun and has never been out before it is probably sunburn. A ficus elastica (rubber tree) usually grows in the jungle where it is not sunny. Move it to under a tree or on a covered porch. It cannot take full sun. I do not know of any fungal problems that would cause black spots on rubber trees. Good luck.
