Hi there! We just bought a Jasmine plant for our sun deck. I'm new to taking care of plants, but really want to learn. I especially love Jasmine. It smells and looks so incredibly beautiful. My concern is that our deck gets direct sunlight and it gets super hot in the summer months. We live in the Valley, lol! Any tips on how to properly care for it? I really want to make this go right.

Hi Misty,

There are many different species of Jasmine. Some are tropical and intended mostly for indoor use. Others are native to cooler regions and tend to do better outdoors. Some species are sun-grown and can be used outdoors in warm climates. Others are shade-grown and need protection from any direct outdoor sun. Without knowing the specific Jasmine species you have, I cannot tell you how best to care for it.
