QuestionI have a indoor foilage for the last 5 years. All the years it was very stable in the winter but this year the leaves started falling last month & during the spring also the leaves are falling. Last time I put fertilizer in the month of feb. Please help me how to protect my foilage. I don't want to loose that plant. I cannot change the pot also because the branches are too tangled & they are rolled in the stair case. Please help.
AnswerShipra,
I suspect that it may have a problem with insects. Examine the plant closely in bright light. If it has fine spider webs over it you have a problem with spider mites. If you find tiny circular spots on the under or topside of the leaves or stem that you can scrape off with a small sharp knife then you have an insect called scale. If you have ants on the plant and a sticky substance on the plants leaves and the surface surrounding the plant you have aphids. A sticky substance on the plants leaves and the surface surrounding the plant indicates that you definitely have one of these insects, after you have examined the plant e-mail me back and let me know which insect you found and I will tell you what you can do about it. It would help me to identify your plant but I would need a picture of it from you. You can e-mail me the picture to
[email protected] I will tell you exactly what kind of plant you have and how to kill the insects infesting it. I will watch for your e-mail. Please put "Plant with insects" in the subject line of the e-mail with the pictures.
Sincerely,
Darlene
