QuestionI have a potted plant that I was given by a friend. I have
no idea what kind of plant it is or how big it is going to
get! It is a branched plant with several offshoots that seem
to follow along one main branch. The leaves are arranged
palmately with approx. 6-8 leaves in each cluster. It's
looking a little droopy lately, but I've begun to give it
plenty of water and UV light and it seems to be perking up a
little. I really am curious as to what kind of plant this
is!
thanks!
AnswerSalacia,
From your description I suspect it is a schefflera plant. You can see pictures here: http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&expIds=17259,24283&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=sche...
Never allow water to sit in the drain tray. Empty it a half hour after watering. This plant likes some sun daily. It is good if it sits in front of a south facing window. It should not be watered until it is very dry. It should not be watered more than once a week in the winter. In the summer it can go outside in full sun. It can get up to 6 foot tall or so and up to 4 foot wide. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
