QuestionPotted palm brought indoors for winter- kept in a sunny window-water once a week- leaves turning yellow-could I be overwatering?eryih
AnswerHi Joan,
The leaf yellowing is most likely due to the change in light and air circulation since you moved it inside. That is one reason I generally do not recommend moving plants outside for the warmer months. It causes the plants to acclimate twice each year. You already have it in a sunny window so that there is not much more you can do for it other than to be patient while it acclimates.
I cannot tell you how to water it because there are hundreds of Palm species and many non-Palms that people mistakenly call Palms. So I have no idler what plant you have and therefore I cannot tell you how dry it should get. All I can advise you is that it will probably use less water now that it is indoors.
If you email a photo of your plant to my email address below, I can probably ID it for you and help you better with the watering.
