Question
I have two beautiful ferns hanging on my porch.  Is it possible to save them for next season?  I have a small home with no room inside except for in the basement with no light.  I have an attached garage with no heat . I really hate to part with these two beautiful plants.  Thank you.  Judi

You might donate them to a church or day care or school that has lots of windows when it is too cold to keep them outside. just a suggestion

To save them you would have to hang them in the basemant and put a 2 tub flourescent light fixture 12 inces above them on a timer and have it on 14 hours a day. Water them well once a week, no more than that and fertilize them every 6 weeks. It would help them if your basement is humid. It will not raise your electric bill more than a dollar a month.
