Questionmy mother passed away two years ago and being the only child i received all the plants from the funeral home. i have had o.k. luck just barely keeping them alive haha! i have one plant in particular that is my favorite and yet have no idea what it is. i have had a very rough time caring for it since noone knows really what it is and therefore cannot give me any tips. i thought i had officially killed it in the spring after different attempts at sunlight and water exposure. i live in northwest indiana and when early spring came i decided to set the plant outside. i placed it on our porch steps which face west. to my surprise upon inspection one day, it had began to sprout new leaves! right now it has several bunches of leaves. the largest are about 1 1/2 in wide by 3 in long with variegated leaves which have purple veins. this plant was very full when i received it and did flower once with tall spikes and small purplish flowers. any help u have for me would b very appreciative since this plant holds a special place in my heart and i am quite young yet so i would like to b able to keep it for years to come. thank you for your time
