QuestionFicus tree on floor
QUESTION: We were given an indoor tree over 5' tall. The label said that it was a ficus but I know that it is not a ficus benjamina. It has flower spikes and they are drying up and the plant is dropping leaves. It I could identify it perhaps I could give it better care. Image is attached.
ANSWER: Hrw,
Because of the background of the trees outside I cannot see the tree well in your picture. Perhaps you could pull it forward and to the left and take it against the white wall so it wouldd show up better. Also take a close up picture of the leaves and send the pictures to
[email protected]. Thank you. Since it has flower spikes it is not a ficus. Ficus do not have flower spikes.

QUESTION: How do I send more than one picture? The form only allowed for one. I am adding the closeup image now.
AnswerHRW,
That was why I gave you my personal email address so you could send me more than one picture at a time to my personal email address and not through all experts but that is okay. I have your answer for you from the close up picture you sent.
Your plant is a hydrangea shrub and should be planted outdoors in the ground as soon as possible in a fairly sunny location. It looks like a nice one. It is a plant that will die back during the winter and regrow in the spring. If you visit a Lowes or Home Depot you will find very similar plants. It should rebloom every summer. It should be kept watered if it really drys out a lot. Good luck.
