QuestionI have a 6 year old pachira aquatica plant that has been striving and grew to a height of 5ft. One of the limbs must have gotten too top heavy and the limb cracked halfway up. Is it possible to salvage the limb at this stage by fusing it together or should I cut it off? If I beak it off, is it possible to grow a new plant from the removed limb?
AnswerMichael,
Unless you can keep it very humid and very bright it is highly doubtful that you will be able to root the branch. It is possible that the break can heal if you apply a good tourniquet on each side of the break and cut the branch back to take some of the weight off of the break. Just cut several inches off the end of each arm of the branch. Then keep the tree in the sunniest location possible. Good luck.
