Question
Plant
Hi Darlene, I received a plant on my birth date, almost 33 years ago, and no one has ever been able to identify it. It has leaves close to a money plant but it doesn't grow up. I have some pics. Can you let me know the best way about identifying it? I've gone to several sites, but frankly, some of terminology regarding specifications is more confusing that slowly going through pictures on google. Thanks, Ted
AnswerTed,
Your plant is a philodendron vine sometimes called a heartleaf philodendron. Go to google and put that in and you will find a picture of a plant similar to yours. One of the best books for identifying plants I have ever found is a book put out by Reader's Digest years ago, Success With Houseplants. You can find it at the library or in used book stores or on ebay or other places online. I love that book. It also has a lot of info about plant care. It is part of what mad me an "expert" on plants. That and raising several hundred a year. Your philodendron looks very healthy and well taken care of. Congratulations. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
