QuestionI have a Pachira plant which is very nice and healthy.
What i need to know is when can I prune the plant cause it is very tall now and i wish to sow some cuttings.
Kindly regards
Freddie
AnswerFreddie,
The best time to get cuttings to root is in the spring of the year when the days are getting longer. If you are in the southern hemisphere that would be now. If you are in the north you need to wait about months for the ideal time. You can prune anytime but when the days are getting shorter the plant will go into a semi dormant stage ande not put out new roots easily. When the days are longer than the nights it will grow much more readily and root much easier. I do reccommend using rooting hormone. Good luck.
