QuestionI have had a wood sorel plant for 16 years. It has been transplanted a few times, into bigger pots with good soil. Just this last summer, it has developed a "blight" of white spots. Hardly any of the leaves are healthy. I have trimmed out the unhealthy leaves several times, they just regrow. It still blooms. Help! I have an image, but it is on the digital camera still, and the camera is with my husband.
AnswerLiz,
I need to know more about these white spots. There are white spots that can be caused by insects or white spots that can be from fungal infections. It would be really helpful to see that picture. You can email it to me at
[email protected] or you can describe the white spots better. Are they raised? Can you take a q-tip dippied in rubbing alcohol and wipe the white spots off the plant? If so the "blight" is an insect. Spray the entire plant with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle every other day for a week, then every 3rd day for 2 weeks, then once a week for 2 months, then watch it closely for signs of more insects. If that is not the problem send me the picture.
