Aglaonema
Hi Darlene,
I believe the big aglaonema I have at home has gotten scale (very sticky). I bought "Ced-O-Flora" to treat it. I have sprayed it thoroughly. How do I know that the treatment is working? When do I have to spry it again? Once a week? Every day? When I should stop the treatment? I enclose picture. Thank you in advance for your help. Angela

The instructions from Logee's website for Ced-o-flora are as follows:
Directions for Use: Shake contents before mixing. Mix 3 teaspoons of Ced-O-Flora with 1 pint of water or 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) to 1 Quart of water. Stir or shake the mixture well before spraying. Spray top and bottom surfaces of the leaves thoroughly. Stir or shake the mixture at intervals during spraying operations. Do not spray in sunlight. If you followed those instructions you cic the right thing.
According to the website one application will work. I would follow it up by using a bottle of rubbing alcohol and paper towels or some disinfectant wipes that use alcohol as the base and use them to wipe down the surface under the plant and as many of the leaves as I could stand to stand there and wipe. It will remove the stickiness and the dead insects. That way you will know if any new insects come back and any new stickiness occurs that you need to do another application immediately. Then I would watch the plant like a hawk daily and be prepared to sray it again if I saw new scale or new stickiness. Good followup and watching the plant well will help you catch future problems early and solve it sooner. You have a beautiful plant. Good luck.
