QuestionHelp!
My wife has had a peace plant for the past ten years and it sucked. Her brother died ten years ago and she brought it home from the funeral as a reminder of him. Unfortunately, it never did too well and as a consequence its foliage died off and it looked very bad. I think after ten years it had about seven leaves left.
Trying to help, I thought I would attempt to grow it and bring it back to its glory. I took it outside and placed it in a shady area in the back yard. I watered it every other day and it began to produce new foliage.
Tonight when my wife came home from work, she was hysterical because the squirrels devoured the plant. There was not a leaf left. When I checked it out for myself, the only thing that was left was the roots and a small portion of the lower stalk.
My question is can I grow the plant back from the roots?
Please say yes!
AnswerDaniel,
Keep it in the shady location and devise a wire basket of some type to cover it. It was probably rabbits that ate it, not squirrels. Be carefull not to overwater it, the roots rot easily on this plant. Then just be patient and give it time. If you don't see any green within a month I don't think it will make it, in which case I reccommend you sneak in a new one, and surprise your wife. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
