dieffenbachia - spontaneous water droplets

Question
I just purchased a Dieffenbachia - placed it under a north window - next to a floor register with A/C turned on - (if that makes any difference)- The plant seems to be healthy, but there are crystal clear water droplets appearing on the leaves - ??? - I do not spray the leaves - I wipe them off and the droplets come back within 10 minutes. What's going on here? Is my plant trying to water itself? (that would be nice) :)

Answer
Pamela,

It is a normal occurence in the summer with high humidity. It should not be next to the floor register with A/C turned on. It hates drafts and that is the ultimate draft. You can move it or you can get a little plastic piece that fits on top of the floor register to direct the cold air away from you plant. They sell them a Walmart among other places. Be very careful not to overwater this plant, it's roots rot easily. It must dry out between waterings. Good luck.
