QuestionMy son brought home a marginata plant from college - it sat in the car for two
full days (warm) and is now totally drooping and brown.... should we try cutting
back all the foliage to see if it is still alive? I know NOTHING about plants.
Apparently, he bought this in the fall and it did well in his dorm room all year
but I'm wondering if the heat in the car has killed it.
AnswerKathy,
Just set it in front of an east facing window and water it when it gets dry. The leaves will probably fall off naturally but be patient. You may see new growth at the top of the plant. If you don't see any growth within a month the heat killed the plant but this is a plant that grows in deserts so I would not be too quick to give up on it. It can be very resilient. Tell him next time he has plants in the car to crack the windows open when he gets out. Good luck.
