My Azalea Tree is dying

Question
Hello,
for Easter my boyfriend got me a tree with out a name or care directions. Today I found out that it is a Azalea Tree and how to take car of it.
Now the problem is just that my tree already started dying.
How can I make it better and maybe rescue it?
There are two in one pot bread into each other. One of them is more or less alive and the other doesn't have any leaves or blooms left.
What can I do??

Thank You,

Raphaela

Answer
Dear Raphaela,

Fortunately you have two plants in one it would seem so cut off all the dead branches and concentrate on the living plant.  It needs bright light but not direct sunlight, plenty of water, the compost should be constantly moist.  My preferred method of watering is to dunk it in a bucket of tepid water deep enough for the water to rise above the pot edge, when the air bubbles stop rising to the top of the water remove the pot and drain off excess water.

If the bottom inch of the main stem is always kept wet [it will be stained darker than the rest of the stem] you know the compost is holding enough water.  Feed the plant once a week during the growing season.

I hope the above and the instructions you already have help you to save your plant.  If not, then hopefully your boyfriend will buy you another one!!  Good luck.

Diana
