QuestionMy donkey tail is hanging on the North side of house in front of window. I use fluorescent light four hours a day. It is a new plant and I hate to loose it. Do you have any sugestions.
AnswerHello Dorothy,
I'm sorry but I have no idea what a donkey tail plant is - is it the same as pony tail? Could you send me the botanical name or a photo so I can identify it? Many thanks.
Diana
Hello again Dorothy,
No sooner had I answered your question than I remembered what type of plant you have but I was at work and very busy so couldn't do any more personal work.
The botanical name is Sedum morganianum and we call it a Burro's Tail over here in Europe!
Like most succulents your plant will enjoy a bright position with some sunshine and do best when facing south. During the Spring and Summer it needs thorough watering - leave watering until the compost begins to dry out and of course in the .winter it will need far less, probably one watering every 1 - 2 months. There is no requirement to mist the plant. It will also enjoy being outside in the summer to get some fresh air.
I hope the above is of use to you and your plant!
Diana
