Question
I was given a beautiful plant for mother's day, but I don't know what it is.  It is about 3 feet tall with braided trunk, narrow leaves, and purple flowers that look a little like small petunias.  Can you identify for me?

Dear Jane, I wish I knew what you have!  It sounds lovely and I have a feeling I have seen these plants in florists but have not looked to see the name.  I will endeavour to find out for you and let you know.

Meanwhile perhaps you could either visit a local garden centre and see if they have any identical plants or ask your son/daughter where he/she bought it and enquire there.  If you do find out please let me know. Thanks.
