QuestionI'm using store bought soil with a bit of sand that has sat for the winter without anything in the pot and no water. A friend gave me an offshoot of her aloe to propagate, and it's doing well, but there are 3 little plants that have popped up that do not look at all like the aloe Vera. Is it possible that it has sent roots up in another part of the pot, or are they likely weeds? Though very small, these new plants have stems and leaves.
Thanks
AnswerKathyn,
Sorry to tell you they are weeds. Probably seeds that floated in on air currents. Your aloe does not need competition so pull them immediately. How large is the pot? If there is only one baby aloe in the pot it sould not be larger than a 3 inch pot. Be very careful not to overwater your baby aloe and make sure he gets plenty of sunshine. Good luck.
