Can I save my corn plant?

Question
I have a corn plant and it was doing excellent until it was left outside on a cold winter night. The leave turned brown and fell off and then the top of the trunk (about the top inch) turned black. It has a couple of stubs sticking out where the leaves used to be. Is there anyway I can save the plant or grow another from its trunk? This is my first experience with a corn plant.

Thank you.

Answer
Ravan,

If the stubs that are sticking up out of the soil are green then you can keep the pot in a very bright but not sunny location in the houseand water it lightly. Do not keep it wet. Be very patient and it may regrow.

A corn plant should never be outside when the temperature is below 50 degrees. It also should never be in a sunny location, as I said it needs bright light but it will burn easily in the sun. If the stump is black I would encourage you to get another plant and try again. Good luck.
