QuestionHi
I need your help in knowing the name of this flower. I was given to me as a gift 4 years ago and it is a very beautiful flower, but I could not find the name any ware. And the person that gave it to me does not know.
Nevertheless, I have some characteristics that might help: this plant gives Only one flower and only once a year in the days between April and May, this flower only last for one week. The Climate where I live is a tropical one (Central America). Its roots is a form of bulb in the shape of an onion.
If you know the name, scientific name, where it comes from, how it should be treated, etc or a link to a site where I can find all information about this flower it will be really great
Thanks in advance for your help

AnswerEnrique,
It is an Allium bulb or a flowering onion. I cannot tell you exactly which variety and I have spent over an hour searching the internet trying to find it on the internet. It is a beautiful pink variety of a flowering onion. It should be treated exactly like an onion or any other Allium. You can look on the internet for care instructions for alliums and go from there. In fact here is a great site for instructions on care: http://www.youcanlearnseries.com/Landscape/Plants/Allium.aspx
I love alliums, take good care of it.
