QuestionHi,
I have several Yucca inside that have always done very well. Now I notice the new growth at the top of each plant is starting to die. Looks like a thick layer of dust forming on the leaves. The rest of the plant looks fine. I am seeing this on 3 plants. Perhaps a fungus or a disease?
AnswerGareth,
I have not had or heard of a yucca with a fungal or bacterial problem. Their problems are usually from too much water and not enough sun. I reccommend that you increase the sun if at all possible, decrease the amount of water that you are giving it and just to be sure there is not a fungal or bacterial problem you could spray it daily with Lysol spray for 2 to 3 weeks. Be sure to spray all possible areas that you feel could have a problem. I have solve both fungal and bacterial problems using a generic version of Lysol spray over a 3 week period. Good luck.
