Plant is dying due to overwatering or something else help?

Question
I have one of those plants that run all over the house, I don't know the name of it, but it is dying and I don't know why? The leaves are swizzle up, and turning yellow. This is the type of plant that can be broken off and rerooted, mine is long enough to go around the kitchen but I've done something is wrong with it. Since I an not an expert on plants, and also unable to give you the name of it, I'm lost. Please help? Thanks in advance, I don't want to lose it, I've been going this plant for about 10 years.

Answer
Sandra,

If you have had it for 10 years what have you changed? It is either a pothos vine or a philodendron vine. They will both grow as you describe. A philodendron is solid green and a pothos vine is variegatedgreen and green & cream or white. Either you have done something that has changed the amount of light the plant is getting or you are giving it too much water all of a sudden. Both plants need to dry out well between waterings. Insert a bamboo skewer into the soil and check it when you think it is ready for water and only water it if the skewer shows that ONLY the bottom 1 inch of soil is moist. It will take awhile for it to come back but be patient and it will. Good luck.
