QuestionI purchased a house plat,(Sorry not sure about the name) from Home depot about a year ago.It grew very big in my apartment with full leaves.I was told to water (about 3 cotainers of 16 oz bottle)it once a week and I have been doing it since.Now I have noticed that the palnt leaves are getting brown and dry.What should I do? Its really a tall beautiful; plant.Please help.

The brown leaves can indicate that it is not getting enough water or it is getting too much water and the roots are rotting so they are no longer able to absorb water. Or the 3rd problem could be the plant is not getting enough light. If you send me a picture to
[email protected] I will identify the plant for you. Tell me what the diameter of the pot it is in. Tell me how close to a window it is sitting and what direction that window faces.
In the meantime there are only 2 ways to tell if a plant is dry 1-use a water meter and insert it into the soil so it is within an inch or two of the bottom and do not water until the meter reads dry at that depth or 2 - insert a bamboo skewer and check it before watering, do not water until the skewer only shows moisture on the bottom 1-2 inches. A pack of bamboo skewers in my area costs .99 at the grocery store. Send me the pictures and other info and I will try to help you more. Good luck with your plant.
