QuestionHi there,
I have an ivy plant that just yesterday was extremely happy- I've had it for a year and its grown dramatically well and seems to be doing great. I moved it yesterday to a new home, and overnight half the leaves are black, the stems seem fine but the leaves and a bit of the stems are totally limp and black. many of the other leaves look wilted too, but some are fine.
the plant is in the original plastic i bought it in but i just placed it in a new ceramic planter - could it be suffocating? also, the new placement was on the heater hear the window- but its cold today, rainy, the heater did not go on, and the sun isnt directly on it. what should i do? what might have caused this? should i separate the plant from all other plants?
thanks
AnswerShelley,
Causes for black leaves are usually too much water and too little light or too cold of temperatures. Do not overwater it or leave it sit in a drain tray full of water and keep it at a minimum of 60 degrees. It definitly must be in a pot with a drainage hole in the bottom. Good luck.
