QuestionI have all of my household plants in clay pots. After I have watered them a white chalky substance has covered the outside of them. What causes this and how do I get rid of it?
Thanks in advance

AnswerDear C. Voni Zoubi,
The white chalky substance on the pots is from the lime and other minerals in the water. You can remove it from the pot by removing the plant from the pot then scrubbing the pot with a stiff wire brush after removing the plant from the pot and soaking the pot in white vinegar. To avoid getting the deposits you can collect rainwater and water your plants with that or buy distilled water to water them. Good luck.
