QuestionNot that I'm complaining, just wondering what I did. Last Spring, I split my Peace Lily into to two plants. Now both of them are blooming in a huge abundance. One (the main one) has 22 blooms on it, and the other smaller one has 16. It almost seems there are more flowers than leaves. The plants both seems healthy otherwise. When the leaves turn completely brown are the only times I remove them (I noticed they are very easy to remove this way). I have never cut any part of this plant except when I split it into two plants. Should I be concerned about the huge number of blooms for such a small plant?
AnswerMike,
No, it should be fine. I suspect you kept both halfs in small pots so they became fairly rootbound fast. This plant likes to be tight and cozy in it's pot and not be in too large a pot. You porbably do not overwater them and I suspect you fertilize them occasionally maybe even with blooming plant fertilizer. A plant will not bloom itself to death so just enjoy. Do not divide them again for at least another year until they are pretty rootbound. Otherwise, keep doing exactly what you are doing and if you have any secrets send them to me. Good luck.
