QuestionHi there. I have a Codiaeum Croton and its lost all of its leaves, and now only has two stems (that look like 2 sticks coming up from the soil). I don't think it has completely died as towards the bottom of the stems it looks like it still has some green in it, and I'm wondering if its rescuable? Can I cut of the tips in hope that it will grow some new shoots and leaves? Or should I give up on it and get a new plant?
Thanks
PS I'm in Australia so its summer here and I'm also after advice as to whether the summer sun coming through the windows is too harsh which is what caused it to dry out and loose all its leaves.
AnswerAlison,
This is a plant that loves the sun. My best advice would be to put it outside in full sun and see if it starts to get some new leaves. I beleive it probably lost it's leaves because of lack of enough sun being kept indoors. It also needs to dry out between waterings and should never be allowed to sit in a drain tray full of water. They lie warm temperatures and high humidity. They do very well outdoors in Florida here in the states. Good luck with yours.
