Question
We purchased a coconut palm about a year ago and have done a really good job of killing it.  Our questions are 1) how much of the coconut should be in the soil (ours is about 1/8") and 2 with only one small frond still alive can it be saved?  Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Northern Indiana so I haven't had any experience with a coconut palm. However I do beleive that if it has a green frond it can be saved with the proper knowledge. I did find the following website with good instructions at the bottom of the page for sprouting coconut palms from seed. I beleive that site will answer most of your questions.
