QuestionHave a wondering Jew that is about 4 years old in an 8inch pot. The plant was doing well till about 3-4 months ago when the plant seem to shrink(hanging vines started to loose their leaves. Took the plant out of the pot and the roots had out grown the pot. Divided the plant in half and planted a portion in an 8 inch pot and a portion in a 10 inch pot. Used a house plant potting mix (40% peat moss,35% composted organic material, 20% washed sand and 5% sand(with a time release plant food 0.14-0.21-0.14. Did this today but after reading about the plant on the Internet I am worried that dividing it may kill it. What do you think? Is there anything I can do to improve the plants chance or survival?
AnswerMalika,
Put both plants in an area where they will get full sun all day long such as a sunny south window with no drapes or shades. Don't let it be dry for more than a day but don't keep it constantly wet either. It probably started shrinking when it started getting less sun. Improve the amount of sun it gets and it will grow. Other wise both plants will die. Good luck.
