QuestionI have around 25 bananna trees, and many of them are 15 foot or bigger. In Illinois it gets cold and I have No basement.Last few years Iv stored them in a closet in my renthouse, What type of container is best to put them in for storage. Last year I had a small rotting problem! I hate loseing my bulbs to Rot! Id rather give them away than lose them!
AnswerStan,
If I were going to store them for the winter I would put them in clay pots in spaghmum peat moss kept very lightly moist. Just mist it lightly with a spray bottle. If you wrap them in plastic you will definitely get roor rot. They should be kept cool but not cold. Good luck from north-east Indiana.
