Mini Orange tree leaf loss

Question
Hi Will. I have a miniature orange tree. Currently it's in the kitchen about 10 ft away from windows with south/west exposure. (we have east, south and west exposure). It was doing fine for weeks, then I moved, and recently some of the leaves have been getting brown and falling when slightly touched. Then green ones started doing the same. I figured maybe it had been too long since I'd watered it, so I did. Should this work? should I change the lighting? It should dry some between watering right? Thanks!  ~Robyn

Answer
Hi Robyn,

Citrus trees require direct sun for as long as possible when indoors. Ten feet from a window is too far away. Your tree should be directly in front of and very close to an uncovered window.

The top inch of soil should dry out in between thorough waterings.
