Hi Will,

I am impressed by past answers on this site and your informative website, and I hope you can help me with plant ideas for my project.

I am transforming a recently purchased a beach house into a romantic love nest. Although the beach house will be used primarily as a weekend/summer get-away, (maybe off-season rentals) a caretaker is  on duty to watch over the house and regularly water plants.  

My "love nest" is romantically appointed with only the finishing touch of live plants and planters remaining. The house has large windows facing every direction. The bedroom's double French doors open out to an east facing balcony and the room additionally boasts large north and medium south windows.

Can you please recommend suitably romantic, sensual plants that will enhance the "love nest" atmosphere I've worked so hard to create? I adore contrasting textures if that is possible to achieve with plants. Not to worry though, if various textures aren't achievable. Whatever your recommendations, you will have my deepest gratitude!

Hi Constance,

I think you need an interior designer, not a houseplant expert to answer your question about "romantic" plants. I also suspect that romance is in the eyes of the beholder.

I can tell you how to properly care for any indoor plants, but your question is really outside my area of expertise.
