QuestionI have one of these plants and wish to break it up and cut off the long leafless leggy limbs with good life on the ends of them. Can I root it?
AnswerHi Leslie,
Tip cuttings that have green stems and only a few leaves have the best chance of rooting. Longer, older stem cuttings often rot before they develop roots.
Tip cuttings root best if they are placed in a small pot filled with a damp, porous potting mix. Enclose the pot and cuttings inside of a clear plastic tent that will keep the moisture in the soil and in the air around the cuttings. Provide bright, but indirect light and lots of warmth. After 4-6 weeks, gradually open up and remove the plastic over the course of a week.
