QuestionI own a Dracaena Plant in which I have next to a window. Some of leaves turned
yellow on one of the stalks and I removed them. Now one of the stalks is
completely bare. My question is...will that stalk produce new leaves?
AnswerHi Jon,
Once a stem on a Dracaena loses all of its leaves, it is unlikely to recover. Usually, there is a root problem behind the loss of so many leaves. Repotting, overwatering and root rot are the usual culprits.
You can try cutting the bare stem to a height of a few inches. The stem should be firm and whitish in color if it is healthy. If so, it may then put out new leaves. If the stem is soft, than it is beyond recovery.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
